Description
"Feel the grass reaching up through your fingers.
Hold your love while it still lingers.
Laugh and cry in allotted time.
Look to the sky, before you fade away."
An experience akin to traversing a peaceful wasteland moments after fuscilade, 2016's, "An Odd Entrances" followed after "A Weird Exits" of the same year as a companion piece to the krautrock, morsecode-synthesizer album of similar grammatical styling. With slower, more left-field approaches to songwriting, "An Odd Entrances" offers a new window into Thee Oh Sees, a sound that is very much unlike anything that has come before or after it.
"You Will Find It Here" is Oh Sees' memento mori track. Beginning with rattles of free-jazz that map out an infinite landscape through echolocation, spacey guitars keep a light hold of the song as Brigid and JPD's harmonies sing beautifully a tale of mortality. The same amazing vocal performances are found in "The Poem," a song of which has some of Oh Sees' best (and most poetic) songwriting.
Boasting new Pins N' Needles technology, the antihelix (the part that is concaved!) of the ear is recessed to create depth in the ear and for the ultimate goal of capturing the album artwork. All pins are stamped with the Pins N' Needles logo, so you can be sure you have a piece of Pins N' Needles enamel!
