Emerging from the polluted landscape of modern-day Terra, the genre-exploring Australian 7-piece, now 24-notes strong in their octave, have arisen from the smog, clad in hazmats and Eastern-influence. Dissecting environmental degradation, climate change, waste and masterfully presenting them in microtonal psychedlia, Flying Microtonal Banana, the first in their five album streak for 2017, sees King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard at some of their creative, music, and narrative best. Music with a message, Flying Microtonal Banana not only gives us something excellently unique and performed to experience, but challenges the listener, and gives us something to think about and act upon.
