Description

On an early morning, underneath the city, Floating Coffin came from the mountain to bring us some of Thee Oh Sees' grungiest, melodically-strongest, and most critically-acclaimed material to date. Toe-cutting and thumb-busting, the ten-track strong tracklist is refreshingly diverse in its sonic offerings, yet never loses sight of the Oh Sees' songwriting foundations. Although the 2013 album introduced the band to a wider audience through Dwyer's charming guitar and synth work, accompanied by Brigid Dawson's wonderfully crafted harmonies, Mike Shoun's excellent percussive work, and Petey Dammit!'s signature bass work, part of what makes this LP so intriguing to those unfamiliar is its haunting album artwork. Equally awe-inspiring as it is frightening, the John Dwyer-created composition serves as the perfect metaphor for the Thee Oh Sees' sound. The reverberated nightmare echoscape of No Spell is what made me first fall in love with the group and I'm happy to be able to bring this iconic artwork to enamel.
